Why Hilary’s Eat Well is Sweet on Apple Cider Vinegar

Vinegar is a fermented food in which natural sugars in the apples are broken down by beneficial bacteria often called the “mother”, and yeast- first into alcohol and later into vinegar. We use raw, unpasteurized vinegar that maintains the life of the mother.
Eating is a sensual thing, you know. See it, touch it, smell it, taste it, and hopefully you’ll hear a bit of crunch or smoosh. Smell is enhanced by the sharp tang of a bit vinegar and taste is highly affected by smell.This creates a nice subtle kick to balance with the mild millet grain.
Apple cider vinegar has a long history as a healing tonic. You’ll find many claims and a few studies about its health properties. Although vinegar is acidic it has an alkalizing effect in our bodies. It is thought that a more alkaline state, which is measured by pH, is health promoting. A simple practice it to mix 1-2 teaspoons of raw unpasteurized apple cider vinegar into 8 oz of water. Drink first thing in the morning to promote a healthy pH and improve digestion.
Each day you can add simple foods to your diet that enhance your health and make eating a happy, sensual pleasure. So start your day with an apple cider vinegar tonic, and then enjoy a Hilary’s Eat Well burger with a side salad. Or add a tablespoon to a vegetable soup. Sweet!
Karla’s Apple Cider Vinegar Dressing
2 Tbl coconut oil, melted
2 Tbl unpasteurized apple cider vinegar
1 tsp++ Sriracha- as little or as much- it’s hot!
Mix together in a small bowl with a fork. In-joy!
